By the time he thinks it up and comes out with it, I would have time to convert my whole High School and Youth Group.

But it might seem to some people that he's milking it for all he's worth like...Pullman. He has a sequl to his trilogy and writing a book about the trilogy.

He could pull a Tolkien and publish his backstory. He's got to have sum sumwhere, all writers do...right?

Some do, others don't.

Besides, I as said before, I want the past published.

Same and some of the future (like what happens to Kitty after she travels.)

If Jon writes another trilogy he'll probably use a whole different cast of characters,

Sadly, yes.

I hope the trilogy doesn't get dated...

I don't think so 'cause it's in an alternate universe and Prague isn't destroyed or nuthing. I bet it's a turn of for people who don't know UK of Czech history

Like flying cars and stuff?

Yes, good thing it is.

I read an enjoyable sci-fi story about the future in 2000...too bad I laughed out loud at some of the stuff.

The movies were called 'grabbies' and they had robots. I don't think they had flying cars, but they might have.

Back on topic....

I guess alternate univereses don't really get dated, but I hope it gets more and more popular. Like Lord of the Rings.

Lotr got popular 'cause of the movies. Anyways fantasy is in now 'cause of HP and others. People are going to be interested.

I hope so.

Anyway, another idea about djinni levels...

Do you think there's only levels for djinni and above are do everything down to mites have them?

Maybe not mites, but I think foliots and everything above would have them. All the medium to very strong sprits. I don't thind Djinn are that special.

Djinni are only awesome because they have sparkling personalities.

We only truly see dijin in Bartimaeus's perspect. Who's to say the other spirits don't lead interesting lives?

Yes, yes.

But from what I see the mites have no intelligence, the imps are nutters, the foliots are so humble they can be walked on, the afrits are nuts or arrogant, and the higher spirits aren't sympathically inclined.

Djinns seem kinda arrogant as well. Look at Barti...he thinks he's so strong and everyone keeps pointing out his faults.
User Avatar
Ianna Marid
No, no he's perfect.

Ok, I'm so biased. But hey, he's funny.

So that cancels out his faults.
